I am running several coputers with XP (25) and of those, 15 behave erratic and become quite unsatble after installing the updates in the windows update page. Al sort of little things begin to happen, freezes, crashes, all only AFTER the windows update is applied...any ideas? (all hardware is micrsoft certified in this machines with MS certified drivers and only running Office XP)

i assume your doing all the windows updates at once? Just do each one by one to narrow it down. They all have the same image?

No, they all have different images as they are of different makes and actually, before I came to this company, they were purchased in a stagered manner (a small company gone medium size soon scenario). They all ran well on win2000, some of them I have done the updates one or two at a time, a few all at once, but two of them, with no updates at all still also present problems, XP tends to forget folders settings (view by type and show in groups, etc) many little things that I am amazed are happening in this 'fantastic' new version of windows, I am begining to wonder about XP....

XP is fine, once the service pack comes out it'll be even better. You should really wait anyway, once your done deplyoning service pack 1 will come out and youll have to do this all again.

Also, have you tried using dynamic update for corp? You can deploy dynamic update on a fhare on your LAN to simplify installing updates. Just search support.microsoft.com on du3 for more info.

what u need to do is use the same image on all pc's. If you have to use different images because of hardware detections thats one thing, but randomly updating machines is gonna give you big problems.
