thats a bug.
Go into regedit and delete this key hkey_classes_root\folder Or go into folder options, file types tab, and edit the default action which should be open not search. You can also try system restore -gosh |

System restore didnt work? try repairing the registry, see microsoft kb article Q307545, you can view the article by typing mskb Q307545, in your address bar.
Or you can try this, make a restore point before you do this. Copy everything below, and save it as fixme.reg. It should have an icon of a green cube. Now double click on it and click ok.
