A dirty install was first coined in eastern afganistan during the soviet occupation. During that time pc techs were in very short supply because of the war. So when a pc broke poor afgani's would use this ritual in hopes of saving a broken pc. First, the person would put in the pirated afgan windows cd, then run the install. Half way through, dirt would be thrown on the pc by children. The town wiseman would come in and bless the pc with a goat. Finally a picture of Ali would be drawn on the computers side as a way of freeing the evil computer spirits. The most popular evil spirit was called "AOL" which broke many computers. I personally wouldnt do this ritual but some friends of mine said it works wonders.
