| Morning, I work on an IT Support desk and am trying to establish if when I ping a router, I should get a response even if there are no further devices attached to it? The situation I have is that within a remote store we have a router and a switch then attached to that. At present I can't ping the router as it times out, but I've been advised by a colleague that I also wouldn't get a response if the router was ok but the switch wasn't working correctly. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks, Jenny |
