I have recently set up a wireless connection using a netgear router. My son and my wife have their own laptops, and my daughter who lives away comes home to use the net also, but the internet bill comes to me. I am the only person with admin access to the router. Recently i recieved a letter from my ISP stating that they believed someone at this address was using a peer-to-peer music downloading program. I do not want to put anyone in the house under suspicion, but would like to monitor their activities just to be sure that if there is something to this accusation, a friendly word and a subtle suggestion might resolve the matter. Im not entirely fluent with computer programs, and logs dont really make much sense to me, however if i could monitor the desktops (as i have seen done by the system administrators at my work) from time to time, this would go a long way to keeping me informed on what action should be taken if any. If anyone could please lend send advice as to how this could be achieved, i would be most appreciative.
