Never seen anything like this. We have a cable connection to the internet. A wireless router and several computers connect just fine. There is the problem child in another room. It can connect to the internet for smtp, i've pingged web sites from its command line and i can see the router is assigning it an iP address. When you type an http://www.google.com in the address bar, after it downloading several pages, it just stops. It is like the http is cut off and it just stops loading html. BUt smtp continues to be fine. I have ruled out the internet connection by taking the cable modem and plugging it directly into the computer. And i have ruled out the wireless connection after getting on the internet with my laptop. Can't think of anything else to try. Any suggestions? thanks

The first question is, has this always been a problem with this particular computer? Second, has anything new been installed on this computer recently? Also, what antivirus/security suite is being used? Also, are all drivers up to date? ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway 15.4" Laptop, Windows Vista Ultimate/Server 2008, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200
