| Hello, I'm having problems bridging my wireless network connection. I have a laptop with a built-in wireless adapter and a pc with standard wired lan adapter and a switch. Now in windows xp I have the possibilty to bridge the wireless connection (internet) with the lan connection, after doing that and wiring laptop and pc to the switch I do get a connection, I even (sometimes) get responses from the DHCP (which leads me to thinking that it actually works) but I cant get any internet connection working or any ping responses... The physical topologie of my network is the following: Router+ADSL Modem (DHCP Server) ¦ Linksys Access Point ¦ Laptop with configured bridge ¦ Pc |

| A couple of points of clarification. Is the access point plugged into the router? Also, what's the make/model of both the router and the access point? Additionally, is the laptop connected to the router with a stanadard ethernet cable? FWIW, the easiest way to configure a wireless connection for your laptop would be to use a wireless router (vs. having a wired router and a wireless access point plugged into it). | after connecting the router to the adsl modem. the router should be connected to the power. it is configured correctly. wireless zero configuration key should be enabled. all the devices are wireless . the internet wire is connected to the router ---------------------------------------------- computer support, computer repair |
