Does anyone have suggestions on which media player works best(for free downloads/workability)?... I'm using AVS4you DVD player,it's pretty good, tried Adobe Media Player last night, but it always says, "this media is not available @ this time", even though caption says fully downloaded. how about a different player, any ideas? (blank screen in Thunder Bay, Ont.)

According to you?
FWIW, what's wrong with Windows Media Player that comes with Vista? If you're running Vista Business, then you'll need a DVD plug-in from some place like Roxio or elsewhere. Vista Home Premium and Vista Ultimate automatically includes the codex to watch DVD's.

First, what version of Vista are you running? If it's Home Basis, Business or Enterprise, you'll have to purchase a codec from a third party (Roxio, Intervideo, etc.).

If you're running Vista Home BASIC, then you'll have to purchase a third party DVD plugin. interVideo and Roxio make them - the cost is around $15 USD.
If you're running Vista Home PREMIUM, then you should have full DVD playback support. In reading your post, you stated you downloaded/installed Windows Media Player on Vista? FWIW, Vista already comes with the latest version of Windows Media Player.

As noted in my post above, you'll have to pay for these. There may be a third party plug-in that's free, but I'm not aware of it. Do a Google search.

Windows Media Player 11 is the latest version.
When you say if media player stopped in my computer how can i solve the problem ??", can you be a little more clear as to what you're referring to, or what the specific problem is?

Prior to this problem, was there a particular program that you installed, uninstalled? And..what antivirus program are you using? One concern is a possible virus/worm.
