I recently bought a Western Digital 500 gb external hard drive. Whenever i try to rename a file the same error occurs every time. The error is: ____________________________________________________________________________ exploror.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x048c1468" referenced memory at "0x048c1468". The memory could not be "read" Click on OK to termenate the program Click on CANCEL to debug the program [OK] [CANCEL] ____________________________________________________________________________ If i just drag the dialogue box to the side and ignore it the hard drive seems to work fine and i can rename files like normal, but if i click OK or CANCEL on the dialogue box it closes explorer.exe and restarts it. PLEEEASE help me! The drive was previously in fat32 format and i kept getting the previously described error AND a data execution prevention error every time i tried to rename a file. i changed it to NTFS and the data execution prevention error is gone, but the referenced memory error is still there. Thanks guys!
