I work in a School, all the student accounts are locked down pretty tight, I run a logon script at logon, that runs all the 'net add' instructions then calls for a .vbs file that installs a printer (that is shared on the server)
But I also have staff accounts that use a mandatory profile, where I have set the desktop eg. direct links to folders needed. Which all works well.
Now the problem, while the .vbs works for student accounts it doesn't work for staff accounts. I know its something to do with the mandatory profile, if I remove that line from active directory then the .vbs adds the printer like it should, but the desktop isnt set.
So how can I add the printer and keep the mandatory profile
edit: I have sicne re-checked and it doesnt matter if the profile is mandatory or roaming, I renamed the NTUSER.man back to .dat and the script still woulnd't work. If I remove the profile totally and use a local profile the script works
