A great deal more information is needed. i.e. Does this problem happen with a fresh install of WinXP? If not, does it begin with the installation of a particular program. Second, information on the age and configuration (i.e. make/model, processor, RAM etc) would help. If your computer is older (5 years or more) it could be a hardware related issue (power supply going out, motherboard, etc.) ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, ATi Radeon 9550; SB Audigy SE; Server 2008 Enterprise, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200

internet explorer 6.0 (Windows XP) running too slow giving a wave effect when scrolling.Pages scroll so slow both ways up or down and as i said gives a wave effect. It worked fine before and only started acting up after I reinstalled Windows XP. I have a pretty fast internet connection otherwise. I have a brand new acer Pro version 2002 service pack 3, AMD Athlon, Core Processor 4000+, 960 MB of Ram. Thanks in advance.

Did you do a clean install (i.e. reformat the drive), or just try and reinstall WinXP over a current installation? Chances are that there may be either malware/spyware, or another program that's interfering with IE. What I'd suggest is to back up all your data and then try a clean install. Definitely upgrade to IE 7. Also, make sure you're using a good AV program (I'd personally recommend Kaspersky - stay away from Norton). ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, ATi Radeon 9550; SB Audigy SE; Server 2008 Enterprise, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200
