| Just recently all of my programs are opening through notepad, even startup programs when I reboot the comp. I remember that before this happened I opened a non-notepad file with notepad just once. The only way I can get online now is clicking on "Microsoft Customer Support online" in Help and Support in the start menu. Has anyone ever heard of this? May there be a cure? I can't even run a virus scan because it opens in notepad.. same with downloading new files. This has never happened to me before.. |

| It sounds like all of your files are now associated to open with Notepad. To correct this, go to Start/Control Panel/Programs/Default Programs and choose Associate a File Type. For each file type, click on Change Program to change the default program that the file opens with.
