I'm was trying to free up some space on my PC and deleted a file I thought was a ".com" file. It turned out to be a command file and now my computer will not get past the Dell screen when I restart it. Is there and way to get past this and recover the file? It won't even start in safe mode..... Any help would be awesome!!!

Put in the XP cd, restart, press any key when you see "Press any key..." and run the repair console. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, ATi Radeon 9550; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200

Without having the XP cd, you're stuck. I'd suggest checking with your friend to see if he/she has the CD's. Otherwise, you're looking at purchasing a new copy of WinXP. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, ATi Radeon 9550; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200
