I have a Dell Inspiron 1150 that crashed and I lost everything. Lessons learned, so I'm now setting up my external hard drive for automatic data protection. However, I need more USB ports. I have the Belkin USB 4 port hub that I tried using years ago with an imac, but it didn't seem to work well. I pulled it out of the closet and hooked it up to my DELL. All the lights are on, but when I plugged my wireless mouse into it, the arrow cursor moves awfully slow and choppy on the screen. I have one more port on the PC to use, so I could plug the mouse into that one, and plug my printer and external hard drive into the hub. Will this configuration work? I don't want to risk losing data, but I need a decent speed with the mouse and the printer. Thoughts? Thanks...
