Hi All
I've searched for threads that might help but found none, so here I go...
IBM Laptop w/PIII using Win XP Pro.
All was working well until I quit AOL Internet service. After that, for some reason I couldn't boot up. All I would get was the Win XP logo as though it was loading...and never would.
I put in my XP system CD and did a repair check. After many hours, it said my PC was corrupted. I tried many ways to boot up and get arond this, all led to the same road--Corrupted PC.
I tried to relaod XP using the CD, following directions from a reputable site with graphics and deleted the existing partition to set up a new one.
I am 45% into the new set up and it stopped!
Am I screwed? Is there another way to reformat? Very concerned I have to buy a new computer. This is an older PC, so I am not opposed to this, but hate giving up!
THANKX!!!

Initially, it sounds like there's a problem with the HD. Recommend taking it into an reputable computer repair place to have it checked.
