Over the past few months my computer has gone from a few seemingly randomly crashes to incessantly crashing (I can't even install S.T.A.L.K.E.R. without it crashing halfway through the installation). I tested everything (although I don't know how well) and replaced the harddrive when a bad S.M.A.R.T. status was indicated. Not sure what to do next. (I no longer have a warranty by the way.) ---------------------------------------------- Alienware Aurora m9700 Processor: AMD Turion™ 64 Mobile ML44 2.4GHz 800MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache Operating System (Office software not included): Genuine Microsoft® Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005 with Service Pack 2 Display: 17" WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 LCD with Clearview Technology Motherboard: Alienware® NVIDIA® Mobile SLi Chipset Memory: 2GB Dual Channel DDR SO-DIMM at 400MHz - 2 x 1024MB Hard Drive: Single Drive Configuration - 100GB 7200 RPM SATA with NCQ Optical Drive: 8X Dual Layer DVD+/-RW / 24X CD-RW Combo w/Software Video/Graphics Card: Dual 256MB NVidia® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS - SLI Enabled Sound Card: High-Definition Audio with surround sound Wireless Network Card: Internal Wireless 802.11b/g miniPCI Card Communications: Integrated 10/1000Mb Gigabit Ethernet & 56K V.92 Modem

Best thing to do is to take it into a shop for diagnostics. It could be anything from bad RAM, to an overheating issue, to a power supply, to a virus or worm. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS3, Nikon D200 and D100
