| Hi, My friends Dell PC sorry don't know the specs has randomly started hanging @ssoon as his desktop loads up. There doesnt seem to be any Boot Problems and gets to the Desktop although very sluggishly, We have repaired from the XP cd but still no joy. He now wants to format his HD but first he needs to get some files off the HD is this possible without the use of XP. He has no other Desktop PC to connect the Hard Drive to but does have an external hard drive. Any suggestion? Many Thanks in advance Wesbo |

| i would sudgest u start the computer in question in safe mode and get the files off that way, that will stop any and all proccesses that are not required for windows to run not to start, so it will run a little better but wont fix it, but he should be able to get his data! |
