The first thing i would try is using the command 'net share'. Go to a cmd prompt and type net share /?, and figure out how to share the program files folder.

Another thing you can try is redirecting a folder to the program files folder, and sharing the redirected folder.

See ms-its:D:\WINDOWS\Help\ntcmds.chm::/subst.htm

Make a folder, have it redirect to program files, shared that folder, see if it works.

I would think though this is by design. Remember though that in XP Pro all hard drives are shared by default.

Right click my computer > manager > double click shared folders > click shares. You should see something like C$. This means the share is shared but hidden. On another computer go to a run box and type:

\\othercomputername\c$

You'll be promted for username and pw, type the username and pw on the computer your CONNECTING to. Since everything on c is shared, itll include program files.
