There are two ways to address.
First, right click on the [b]![/b] and choose uninstall. Reboot your computer and allow WinXP to try and find the driver again. If it asks if you want WinXP to search the internet for the driver, choose yes.
If this doesn't work, go to Compaq's site and download the driver for your specific computer and install it.

Either of the processes I described should install the correct driver and eliminate the ! in device manager.

The first process CAN be followed because when you reboot the computer, WinXP will find the hardware and search for the driver.
