Sony support are really worthless. I often call them the "restore cd specialist". But anyway, do the basics.

Does this happen in safe mode? Go into msconfig, click diagnostic startup, restart, does it happen in this mode?

What about system restore? Start > all programs > system tools > system restore

Why not backup your data to cd and run the restore cd?

Trend NT Realtime Service sounds like the Trend micros antivirus service. If that's the case it would make sense, since antivirus will monitor what you do. If you go into msconfig > services tab > check hide ms services, is it listed? If so it's a 3rd party service that some software you installed added it. Might want to search google.com on it.

The proper way to disable it is to first go into msconfig, click normal startup, click ok, and restart.

Go into control panel > administrative tools > services

In the list look for this service. Once you find it double click on it, where it says startup type make sure it says disabled. You might also need to click on STOP to unload it from memory.
