it sounds like you have the computers connected directly to each other through the NIC's. OK - if they're connected to a router, then my suspicion is that there's something wrong with the new computer from a hardware standpoint. First thing I'd look at is the NIC - reason is that this problem occurs only when transferring large amounts of data. Next guess would be the mobo.
