| First, which Linksys model do you have? One of the functions of a switch is to control network traffic. Yes, you and your sister can connect to the internet via a switch, but its not the best choice. A better choice is a router. Although you can't change the MAC address of a router, you can do whats known as MAC Cloning, whereby the router broadcasts the MAC address of one of your computers.
