First, windows xp is not simliar to windows 98, it is the successor to windows 2000 - 2 totally different things.
second, this is by design. some modems send a signal to disconnect but its not received for 30 seconds or so. Im guessing your modem is nonhcl? Look it up at microsoft.com/hcl - if it's not listed you need a HCL modem that will work. -gosh |
