| It could be either system RAM or video RAM that's crapped out. It could also be that program that was installed before has damaged some of the start up files. One possible solution would be to to a clean install. | If your computer is a retail computer (HP, Gateway, Dell, etc) they sometimes come with diagnostic programs (Gateway provides a free copy of PC Doctor, which I've used to diagnose several problems on other computers with).
