Technically it is 4 gigs, however the first 2 gigs are for user programs, the second 2 gigs are for drivers, so 2 gigs. You can tweak it to use 3 gigs for user programs, 1 gig for kernel processes. For servers, you can use an intel specifation to increase tis.
