Whats the motherboard, video card, bios date and bios manufactor?

irqlnotlessorequal means a driver is trying to access memory outside of its range. This is caused by a driver or hardware. Disconnect all the external hardware thats non essential, take out everything internal except video card. Try disabling plug and play os in the bios. Check your motherboard and video card on microsoft.com/HCL - if there not there thats probably your problem. The reason microsoft maintains the hcl is to avoid hardware problems.

If still same problem, install win9x, download all the drivers for it, then upgrade to xp. If the problem is with the inbox driver, the only way to use another driver is to do that. Try swapping the video cards, usually you can swap it back after setup and have no issues. Video cards with known problems are ati, nvidia. Also update your bios if theres an update available.

You could also look at c:\windows\setupact.log to see what device it's freezing on. Also check out setuperr.log, setuplog.txt, winnt32.txt, setupapi.log.
