| For your second problem, a quick Google indicated that this file (NTOSKRNL.EXE) can become corrupt - usually due to a virus. Best guess is that your first problem is related to the virus infection too. Best recommendation: Back up all your data and reformat/do a clean install. Then, get a good AV program such as TrendMicro's PCCillin (Norton is a resource pig.
