I'm looking at several different CDRW software packages. I've used Roxio EZCD 5 (don't want to go with that as there are several reported problems under WinXP, and their prior history under Win2000 is poor) and Nero 5.5 (works fine, but it takes some getting used to the interface).

I'm looking at
1. VOB InstantCD
2. Stomp RecordNow Max or Click 'n Burn Pro
3. NTI CD Maker Pro

Would appreciate any thoughts/input as to those over Roxio or Nero.

You're right, roxio is a nightmare on winxp! However, you know winxp has built in cd burning right? To use it you just right click on a file/folder, left click on Send To: -> cd burner. Or you can drag and drop stuff to the cd burner, or a shortcut to cd burner.

I've used Nero and haven't had 1 problem with it. Stay away from stuff that uses aspi, since winxp does not have it (although you could install it i guess).

Thanks. I've used the built in CD burning with WinXP. Adequate for basic stuff (actually worked quite well to make several data CD's).

Will take a look closely at the other software to see if there's any indication that they use/need an ASPI layer.
