Who thinks Longhorn will just be Windows XP 2nd Edition? I'm kinda thinking that, unless they go with Service Packs instead. Any ideas??

yeah, I agree... but do you think it will keep the same name (with a second Edition, or something like that) and the same UI? I have been hearing for a long time now that Blackcomb would have a totally different UI. Anyway, its pretty exciting, cause I may actually be on this beta!! (I applied the first day, so that has to help my chances :). But, I bet it would be a lot of changes under the hood, so to speak, that the consumer won't really see.

I don't understand why Microsoft thinks we need a new OS once a year.

How about just releasing a few Service Packs and maybe an Option Pack for XP and call it good?

Well Apple releases these minor versions. I don't mind maybe $30 for a small upgrade, but this $200 every two years is ridiculous.

I'll stick with Win2k before going that route.
