JDA - Couple of options for you to consider: 1. If all you want to use is a CAT5 (ethernet) cable between the two computers, you need to get what's known as a "crossover cable". Using this should allow the computers to see each other. 2. If you're running DSL, you might want to consider getting a router and connecting the two computers to it. This way, you don't have to use ICS, which requires the host computer to be on in order for the other to access the internet. Also, today's routers have built-in firewalls to help prevent little nasties (hackers) from turning your files into a puddle of goo. 3. Check the spec's on your parents computer to see if it can handle WinXP (if you're not sure, post the info here) ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800; ATi Radeon 9500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional
