I have a feeling it will be successful. I got to play the games hands on at E3, and they are really, really impressive. Project Gotham (a racing game) is very good.

It will succeed - but probably be behind both Sony and Nintendo's new Gamecube which is ace.

I guess I think differently than most others. I think it will do better than Gamecube, but not as well as PS2. I have always liked Nintendo, but I think they are catering too much to the Pokemon generation right now, and I think XBOX is building up hype for its self as quite the opposite (dark graphics on web site, 'bad' games). I think they XBOX has much much more hype right now in the gaming community, and Microsoft has been able to make themselves seem cool, atleast in my opinion. Maybe I am underestimating the Pokemon, but I don't expect it to be around too much longer.

ListerOfSmeg: I know, but I just think they have run their corse. I am definately not ruling them out (I know the part about "I don't expect they'll be around too much longer" may have seamed like that:-) but I think honestly they will go Segas way... maybe not totally out, but definately not in. I know it all has to do with marketing, esp. at this point. I just think there will be a lot more gamers out there they are going to rush out and buy this then there will be for the the GameCube.

Well, why don't you ask some kids what they are excited about buying? I asked my little brother (6th grade) and they are pumped about GameCube. They really like the gameboy advance as a controller. Me personally I am going to go for the XBox and trying to get my little bro to do the same (I need someone to trade games with right?) I hope Xbox wins out but we shall see.

But the gamecube doesn't have a dvd player. I could see how some families without a dvd player would opt for the xbox over the gamecube because of that.
