The first thing on my mind is do you have a physical connection? In other words, make sure nothing is blocking the line of site, line the computers next to each other if you have to. Is there a wireless networks tab on the connection? If not update the drivers. If you put the wireless NIC in another computer, does it work? If so it's not drivers or wireless nic. At the bottom right, does it say you're connected? If so how fast is your connection speed. If you are connected (probably you are) you're looking at a authentication problem. Make sure the computer has the same encryption level as the other computers. Try switching from ad hoc mode to infrastructure mode. In XP SP1, it has a new authentication level. Also in sp1, you can make a log file [emote|:)] Install sp1 if you haven't. SP1 also has performance tweaks for wireless networking, you'll see a BIG improvement after applying it. Also try ipx/spx.
